Two best friends embark on a high-stakes game of imagination, which takes an unforeseeable turn and threatens to jeopardise their relationship.

One day, Shizuko and Toshiro become involved in a traffic accident. Toshiro dies, while Shizuko becomes is in a serious condition, unconscious. Through the accident, Koji finds out about Shizuko's infidelity, and is emotionally ripped apart by anger and sadness. In this grievous state, Fujimura's wife, Miwa, appears. Koji and Miwa become attracted to each other and begin a relationship, as they are both are grieving the loss of their partners.
